My Christmas cactus isn’t growing too much, I have it in the dining room with a little sun and some shade because when it was in the sun room, the leaves were turning yellow, but now it’s not growing as fast as it used to. Does anyone know why?

Possibly lighting. Mine thrives in a west window. I also have one in my sunroom in the north window but gets light from south and west as well. They also prefer to be on the drier side.

has the watering changed at all since it was moved to less light? the soil should be completely dry when you water. more sun will make the soil dry out quickly as the plant uses more water when it grows faster, the heat of the sun also helps moisture evaporate. plants in shady conditions tend to stay wet for longer which can cause overwatering symptoms like yellowing leaves.
1 LikeThere are not yellow leaves, they are all green and it is not droopy at all. Just the growing progress has decreased.

that’s my bad, i misread your original post as though the yellowing was occurring in its new location. more sun typically equals faster growth until it’s too much light for the plant. schlumbergera (holiday cacti) prefer bright light, but minimal direct sun. mine thrived a few feet back from a west window before it was eaten by my rabbit.

You can try propagating to promote new growth, plus you can add the new props to the soil for a fuller plant after they root!
0 LikesSounds like some fertilizer could help! Mine always gets hangry. I also like to gently wipe all the leaves bc they collect lots of dust over time!
