What do I do with this thing? I'd like to try and save it and not toss it. It said it needed high humidity so I literally had it next to my humidifier. Out of direct sun but near a plant light and I watered it with filtered water when Planta told me but not if it was still drenched. What the heck?

What kind of soil did you have it in? A plant usually does best in soil/pot where you can follow the watering schedule.

You could try a really chunky growing medium instead, and keep doing all the things you said because it sounds like this little B is ungrateful! It seems like you’re doing all the right things

I had to switch from tap water to only distilled when I water all of mine. I accidentally used filtered water a few weeks ago and mine is STILL mad at me.

This looks like pest damage to me. And I think I can see some spider mite webbing in the center?

Hey I think you might be right - I see the webbing too. A few other spots looks suspicious for webbing as well.

Oh yuck. Glad I separated it. Alcohol on a q-tip, right?

I would actually get it out of the soil completely - rinse the whole thing. You can try the q-tip but spider mites lay eggs under the “skin” of the leaf so it will require a lot of treatments. This looks like it’s been going on for a while unfortunately. It might be best for your sanity to start over with a new plant 😔

You all were so right! When I opened the magnifier on my iPhone I could see them crawling around. Yuck. Changed the soil, washed with soap and alcohol and put in quarantine. Cut off most of the damaged leaves but not all. We'll see what happens.
