Kentia palm help!! This has been happening to the soil, there are small flies of some kind, and piece by piece on stem goes neon yellow and dies. Also some of the tips are turning brown. We’ve had this for 8 years and it just started doing it. Would love any help because we love this palm and want to see it flourish!!

It might be a soil disease so I would report it and see if it has any root rot or any pests

Just purchased one of these today, took it home and found red spider mites on it.😞. Brown tips on leaves normally means watering issue, ever under watered or issue with roots, be good idea to do a soil change if u haven’t recently and check roots at same time. Looking at lower stems looks like spider mite bites, have u come across any webbing, mine didn’t, but not all spider mites leave webs. Does the spots wipe off or is it in the stem, if in stem then most likely bites

I had this issue when my soil became Hydrophobic and it had standing water in the pot! Try repotting!

It looks like the soil is both hydrophobic and diseased. I would recommend changing the soil completely. Wash the pot to make sure it’s not contaminated from the soil. Water thoroughly check lighting as well as the area. Make sure it’s not to dry, or cool.
