Hello, After my last watering, 2 of my plants have mold on the soil. I removed most of the mold with a plastic spoon. But, how do I prevent this from happening again and how can I treat the remaining mold? Thanks

    Good airflow and don’t over water. You can treat the soil with diluted hydrogen peroxide. 1 part hydrogen peroxide 3% mixed with 3 parts water. Water your plant on schedule but use this mix like once a month? See if that helps. Too much hydrogen peroxide will burn the roots so please be sure to dilute. Alternatively you can repot with new soil being sure to brush off any old soil on the roots.

    I recently had similar problem with a few of my plants I purchased at a plant event...researched & found removing mold (like you did), adding a bit new fresh soil to replace removed, then adding cinnamon. It's been 3 weeks for me & no mold re-growth. Fair warning - I'm no expert at plants so Claude & reddit have been my best friends prior to joining this community a couple days ago
