I’m a new plant owner who just cannot for the life of my stop buying new plants. I have around 30 now and I have these little gnats flying around everywhere. I just NEED to know how to get rid of them. I also wonder if the gnats affect my plants. Are they holding my plants back from thriving? Or are they just living in the soil and not effecting them? They’re taking over and I really don’t want to have to give my plants up! Please comment on any advice yall have!!!

Those are fungus gnats. Sticky traps and mosquito bits/dunks are typically used to treat them. However they are caused by overwatering. Make sure you are watering according to your plants needs and checking more than just the top layer of dirt

That happens to me as well. Definitely follow your watering schedule based on the plant. Grab a zevo and plug it in. It will help with what’s there and then sprinkle some cinnamon on top of the soil of your plants.

Yesssss! I forgot to mention the cinnamon. It’s a natural anti-fungal

I would suggest getting a water reader like this one (Amazon-2pk $8). I was a new plant mom, too, and very prone to over watering. I’ve come to realize Planta’s watering schedule isn’t absolute, but more of a guideline. Also helpful, check the “care” tab on your specific plant to see if it likes to dry out before watering or stay damp.
