Is my Fern beyond saving? It’s placed on an east window. Not sure what to do, all the leaves are crispy and dried.

You can save that. First, give it a long (20 minutes to a full day) bottom-watering soak to help it recover from dehydration. Make sure it drains very thoroughly after the soak. Its leaves should perk up significantly either the day of or day after the soak. Next, trim away any obviously dead leaves (if you're not sure, you can always leave them until you are sure). If the fern recovers well, you can give it a week or two of regular care (water more often though). Whether you give it a rest week or not, I'd recommend repotting to check for root rot and adjust soil type. If you find signs of root rot, the problem is inadequate drainage. If the roots seem dry but otherwise healthy, you're underwatering. If you are a chronic underwaterer, you can add a little sphagnum moss to your soil mixes to improve moisture retention between waterings. Ferns are very thirsty plants by nature

if the roots are healthy, you can save it. get the crispy stuff off and hope for the best. i wouldn’t repot it until it shows signs of life — check the bottom of the pot if you’re worried about rot. doubt it if it’s this dry, i don’t see signs of rotting. you might push it over the edge if you repot too soon, as ferns have sensitive root systems, but i’m also one to hail mary anything lol

salvageable! she's too close to the window, and likely is getting too cold. put it on a coffee table a few feet away from the window. invest in a mister or humidifier.

As others here have said - give it a good thorough soaking, move it a bit away from the window, and keep the humidity high! Ferns do grow in wet forests, after all.
