Hello! I bought this plant today. The sticker said it was a split leaf philodendron but from what I’ve gathered on this app it’s a monstera deliciosa. One leaf has a big brown tip, it is brown and dry. There are two other small leaves where the tips appearing to start to do the same. Top soil is dry, is it dry about half way down and bottom half is cool and slightly slightly damp. The lady at the store said to repot in a month and water when top soil had been dry for a couple days. Does anyone have an idea of what could be wrong? If so do you have any advice on how to fix it? Thank you so much!!

    I’m pretty sure you’re right and it’s a monstera deliciosa. For the brown tip there is nothing much you can do if just cut it off but make sure to not cut the green part. If the lady at the store said repot in a month that could be a safe option. Another way to test is to squeeze the pot a little and see if you feel the soil moving or just root. I think you could wait up to 4 months but it’s just depends how comfortable you are with repotting. The advice she gave you about watering is right but there is a bit more to it. Maybe get a wooden skewer or chop stick and stick it in the soil (try not to hit root) and see if it comes out wet. It put in maybe 2-4 inches if it’s dry wait a couple of days then water. Maybe a weekly watering would be good. A few more tips, there is a bit of build up on the leaves so maybe get a damp tissue and wipe it off. Also make sure the plant gets indirect Sun light so a spot next to a sunny window would be great. I’m sorry for the long reply hope this helps.
