Watering as directed (checking top soil dry) 3rd time using bottled water after I found out tap is bad (Kirkland bottled water) Gets lots of sun (I brought outside to check roots. Usually in front of a window or under my grow light) Roots are short(?) and not mushy Tips are browning and dry but not crispy Did I kill it? 😭
I would wait until the whole soil is dry, also it could be shock if you messed with the roots sometimes they just need a few days to perk up. No it is not dead

Bottled water still has minerals in it. Some plants are sensitive to minerals. Best to use distilled or reverse osmosis water to be absolutely certain.

That looks like a self-watering style pot, is that how you’re watering or are you watering from the top? Just out of curiosity. 🧐
