My dragon’s breath alocasia pushed out a gorgeous new leaf which, within the first week of being fully unfurled, has this hole in it 😕 I would appreciate any help identifying the cause so I can start treating it! TIA!!

I think it’s just some mechanical damage but I’d give it a good look over for pests just in case.
4 Me gustaThank you!! Pest check only revealed a problem I was already aware of: fungus gnats. Going to start treating with mosquito bits tomorrow🤞🏻
1 me gustaSpider mites usually leave holes like this. They’re tiny and look like dirt particles under the leaves. You’ll probably notice the small webbing before the actual mites. I’d check for them and treat with a neem oil + dr bronners solution.

I second Ji11’s suggestion. If you do a preventative treatment with Dr Bronners peppermint soap and water, if there are pests then you’ll get ahead of an infestation.
2 Me gustasometimes these little abnormalities can be a result of improper drainage - i’ve seen that with my silver sword philo
