Hi! I have this weird greenish/white goo(?) on the top of my spider plant soil. Like almost looks like chewed gum. It was hard to get a good picture but itās all over the top of the soil. What is it?? Do I need do get rid of it?

that happens to mine too pretty often! iāve tried everything from home remedies, to manual removal, to stirring it up, and unfortunately the only thing iāve found to help for the longest is new soil ): iām sure thereās an easier way though! just to add- i have read a few things saying itās mold and iāve also read a few things saying itās mineral collections from the water, idk though!
0 gillningarIt's a fungus. Shouldn't harm the plant. But you can scrape it off and sprinkle with ceylon cinnamon or some peroxide to kill the spores.
4 gillningarThey thrive in soil that stays moist for a long while. Let the soil dry out between waterings.
