Can anyone help me with my ghost plant? This is like the third leaf to shrivel up and wither away since I’ve had it for like a month now. I repotted it to this tiny planter a week ago. It sits in this windowsill and I watered it only last week. I’ve been waiting for the soil to completely dry out. I can’t seem to figure out succulents for the life of me even though they’re supposed to be so easy 😓 I should also mention: this pot used to be potted with like 6 other small succulents so I’m thinking that maybe it’s extra thirsty?

      Yeah it’s especially for succulents

Mine was doing that too and I know it wasn’t getting enough light because it became etoliated so I ended up just plucking out all the leaves to prop. So the two things I could think of is does it have enough light and is the soil too wet/giving it too much water?

I’m also thinking it could be a light issue. I know succulents prefer full sun and they get part sun part shade on this windowsill. Maybe I’ll put them under a grow light?

The windowsill it’s currently on is northeast facing, so I’m thinking to put them on my southeast facing windowsill instead

Yes i only have NE facing that gets like 3-4 hours of sun so I had to put them under a grow light and while they’re not continuing to look funky they’re just not growing so idk… at least they’re not dead 😅

I have a ghost plant and it was in a south facing window that’s 6 feet from another house. It definitely was leaning from not getting enough sunlight. It’s a misnomer that ALL succulents need full sun, but a lot do. I think ghost plants are one that does want full sun or mostly full sun. If they are not getting enough light, they can stretch and lean. Yours doesn’t seem to be doing that though.

You said you recently repotted it from a pot full of succulents so I’m going to offer an alternate suggestion. It’s possible that it was struggling in that other pot because it needed way more water because all the plants were sucking up the water you were giving it right away. When a plant doesn’t get enough water, it will start killing off its lower leaves because it is actually sucking the water out of them. Those leaves are water and nutrition storage for the succulents and, that is just what they’re designed to do. It doesn’t hurt them, it is part of why succulents are so easy to care for because if you forget about them for a little while they can feed themselves. 😊 Your plant looks really healthy otherwise. So it could be that that leaf was already marked by the plant to be killed off from its struggle in the other pot. And it could be that what you’re doing now is perfectly fine and great. 😊 I noticed that on the stem where leaves had come off, it looks like there are little pups growing there, and it only does that when it’s happy. So it may very well be getting enough light and the right amount of water now, and you are just seeing the effects from when it was in the other pot. I would actually suggest you don’t change anything for a couple weeks, and see if it continues growing pups on the stem, if it doesn’t lose any other leaves, and grows new leaves on top. If they’re not getting enough light, then it won’t put out new growth, if it’s still putting off new leaves on top as part of the main rosette, and it’s putting out pups where leaves were, it may be perfectly happy now. Succulents don’t recover right away from stress, even when you’re doing the right thing, it might take a few weeks to see the plant totally bounce back. So the fact that it’s dropping the leaf may have nothing to do with its current situation. I think you may be doing it perfectly now!❤️
