I just discovered that my aloe plant has severe root rot and has completely rotted away from its roots. Is there any chance that the plant will survive and what should I do to help?

If the entire root system is completely gone, it's likely the plant cannot survive. If any firm roots remain, you might be able to carefully keep growing it. Maybe consider propagating? It seems this plant is beyond saving.

You might be able to propagate it by cutting off a small pup (offshoots) if you can find any growing at the base, and detach it from the parent plant. Then you can pot it in healthy conditions.
0 J'aimeI say spray the bottom with diluted hydrogen peroxide, stick it in cactus soil, and hope for it to grow new roots
4 J'aimeTo add onto this, I would also say maybe let it sit out for a few hours before doing so and don’t keep the soil very moist or otherwise it will rot completely
4 J'aimeShould I pot the whole plant or separate into the offshoots first?
0 J'aimeThe piece you have there in the picture looks good. Let it callous a day or two , dip in some root stimulator if you have some and put in succulent soil don’t water until the next day. And then leave be for 10 days or so and water again. They don’t like a lot of water. And mine do well in bright light but not direct sun.
