Does anyone know why the tips of my leaves are drying out on this Calathea? What could I do different? I am following the Planta schedule exactly.

I wouldn’t follow planta’s schedule to a “T”, I’d just use it as a reminder to check the soil, don’t want to overwater your plants 😬 also calathea’s usually love humidity and are sometimes sensitive to hard tap water
3 J'aimeI’ve only used distilled water with fertilizer. I see new growth coming in and that is super exciting! My house has an AC that is too big and our humidity ranges around 65 to 75% so I’m a little stumped! Maybe I’ll set a humidifier at night where I know it is lower and see. 🤞🏼
0 J'aimeAh okay, huh yeah you’d think it wouldn’t be so stressed then. That might help, make sure it has enough airflow during the night with the humidifier so that no mold or fungal issues happen
1 j'aimeOk. Could it be the fertilizer? Is there a recommended kind that won’t burn the leaf edges?
0 J'aimeIt could be fertilizer burn? When you water do you water until it runs out of the drainage holes? It’s important to flush the soil of any kind of mineral (although non-issue if you’re using distilled) or fertilizer build up that can accumulate without at least occasional deep watering
1 j'aimeI do water it until it drains out. 🤔 So finicky these plants! 😩
0 J'aimeGorgeous!!!
1 j'aimeI’ve been reading more and more and I think you may be right! Is there a specific more gentle fertilizer I could use?
1 j'aimeI use Grow Co organic on most of my plants — it STINKS and it’s sticky but my plants love it. i added a pump top and usually do one full pump per liter of water
1 j'aimeCalatheas are so so picky. I’ve gotten mine to thrive by starting to bottom water and just let it soak up as much as it’d like. Also give it as much humidity as you possibly can. I was told that if you mimic a rainforest floor as much as possible it’ll thank you.
1 j'aimeGood to know! I’ll try that! How exactly does that work?
0 J'aimeGet a large bowl or dish of some kind and fill it with water, then sit the pot inside and let it keep soaking up water until it’s done. The older leaves with damage won’t fully heal but you’ll definitely notice new leaves doing much better. They don’t like being overwatered but they love to be drenched, so just let it dry between watering and then practically flood it.
2 J'aimeWanted to let you know, I did this! And I’m hopeful! I think the edge burning is slowing down! 😩🤞🏼🙏🏼
1 j'aimeAwesome! I hope it continues to help
1 j'aimeThis is working! No new burned leaves, new growth and the new leaves are looking good! 🤞🏼🥰
