I just got this Albo Syngonium today. It was expensive but I bought it in good health. Since i’ve brought it home, the white leaves have wilted and have turned slightly more yellow than white. I think it maybe be temperature shocked bc it came from a greenhouse to my house which is not as warm but idk. Please please please help.

It’s acclimating to its new environment, getting adjusted to the temperature shock of traveling home, the new house temperature/lighting/water and other variables. Syngoniums are very resilient. Let it adjust about 2 to 3 weeks. I recommend adding perlite to the soil for good drainage.

i’m planning to repot it saturday in a clear nursery pot with fox farm soil and rocks at the bottom for added drainage. should I wait until it adjusts before repotting? will the leaves bounce back? i’m nervous since i know white variegation can’t produce food for the plant and are more fragile.

Syngonium are slightly less tantrum prone than alocasia. Especially depending on where it came from, i tend to ask the sellers what the plants conditions are and replicate it, and slowly acclimate them to my normal. Definitely ammend the straight soil like Sunny suggested, it will increase airflow around the roots, not just at the base. And you can add Silica to your water to help with the white portions.

That's a pretty common soil mix for a nursery or quantity grower. You can leave in that until it calms down, just mind your watering. And stick your finger/chopstick to check it's dryness. Unfortunately, peat and such works in hot greenhouses, but not so much most homes. It's kinda irritating, but it keeps their business costs down. Look into so Mycorrhizal, it helps with shock. You sprinkle it in near the roots

I think everyone here has shared great advice on how to get your Syngonium Albo looking good. As others have shared, I would not stress too much. Just be mindful to let the soil dry out some (I usually get a wooden chopstick or skewer and stick it in until it hits bottom of pot. If when i pull it out it is quite dry, I know I can water again). This plant will grow like a weed when it gets acclimated though and again it is quite resilient! Mine is still thriving despite mostly cloudy days and cooler temps (68-72 degrees) in my Chicago winters.

Just give it good light, water when needed and it’ll be lush in no time (my SA now after I got it as a 4 leaf cutting in July)
