Help! I’m new to the peperomia hope plant. Is it normal for its leaves to look curled up and wrinkled underneath?

no, the leaves should be flat, round, and shockingly hard. they make a snap when you break them. could this just be very very thirsty?
1 me gustaIt’s strange because I watered it a few days ago! And the leaves are soft and bendable 😭

How thoroughly did you water?
0 Me gustaif your soil is hydrophobic (it either takes foreverrrrr for the water to absorb — or it immediately runs right through the pot) try submerging the pot in water for ~30 mins alternatively if the roots have rotted from overwatering somewhere along the line, then you’re out of luck i’m afraid 😔
1 me gustaHow did you water it. Just poured a little into the pot or did you water till it came out the drainage hole? Second is correct way.
0 Me gustaThe older leaves aren’t curly but they are still bendable 😭
0 Me gustaI failed at my first peperomia so I’ll be watching for any tips and ideas about this
0 Me gustaI’d say water it deeply, like fill a sink/big bowl and set the whole pot into it. The water lever should come to the base of the plant. And let it soak for probably like an hour. The soil is probably hydrophobic and the water isn’t soaking it, but is running right through, and only the very top of the soil is actually getting wet.
1 me gustaThat makes so much sense!! Thank you so much for your help!🤍
1 me gustaGood luck! 🍀♥️
