I was on the YouTubes and there’s a content maker called SheffieldMadePlants and he had made a video about using water conditioner for aquariums (tropical fish) and how it “removes” harsh minerals for his plants and helps with crispy tips. Has anyone tried or heard of this?

Someone recently told me about this for watering carnivorous plants. I don’t have the cojones to try it myself but am also super interested to hear about the results!

I do this all the time and I think it helps, I only do it for plants that I know are sensitive to metals in the water like calatheas and my triostar. I use api tap water conditioner (around $7) and you only use 1mL per gallon so I’d say it’s worth doing :)

I think PlantFather has suggested this many times.

It’s definitely effective but it’s not always needed. Some cities don’t put the recommended levels of minerals in the water so it is not as harsh on sensitive plants. My city only puts 25% of the recommended levels into the water, so simply filtering my water is sufficient for all of my prayer plants.

Yes I bought this and use 1 drop per gallon of water as I make a gallon of plant water at a time with it and put my kelp fertilizer in with every jug too so I fertilize my plants at every watering. It will last forever.

Yup! This is exactly where I discovered that product too. It started with my kiwi dragon tree due to it being sensitive to chlorine but now I use it in all my waterings.
