Hey, I’ve had this rose grape plant for quite some time and I’m wondering if i should prune off this flower? It was done flowering like a month ago. And is there a way i can encourage it to grow more vertically?

Is it a hanging plant? Most time when plants get leggy it’s good to prune and propagate babies from them.

No, it’s supposed to grow upright/bushy and the flowers droop like you see in the pic :)

YUP is right.. It needs more support To encourage a "rose grape" vine to grow more vertically, you need to provide a sturdy vertical support system and consistently train and prune the vine in the direction you want it to grow. Grapevines, including rose grapes (or Vitis vinifera 'Rose'), are natural climbers but require assistance to achieve a straight, vertical shape.

I understand what ur saying, but its not a Vitis vinifera, its a Medinilla magnifica. I’ve heard it be called rose grape vine, but maybe thats not the right common name. I’ll try giving it support anyway tho, but its not ACTUALLY a grapevine :P

Medinilla magnifica, also known as the showy medinilla or rose grape, is a tropical evergreen shrub native to the Philippines, prized for its large, showy pink flower clusters. It is an epiphytic plant, meaning it grows on other plants in its natural habitat, and is grown as a houseplant for its spectacular blooms. To care for it, provide bright, indirect light, high humidity, consistent moisture in a well-drained, peat-based potting mix, and temperatures between 65-75°F All I did was ask google this is what it said and showed me. Is all just trying to give genuine advice.🙏🏽
