Anyone know what could be going on with my “Rachel” aka my corn plant? She’s gotten huge but also is yellow and not as bright green. Top is dry. I’ve been watering like every 7 to 10 days. Her soil looks good too. Not sure if she needs to be repotted?? Or…

Yellowing leaves → Usually means too much water or root stress. • Brown, crispy tips → Can come from fluoride/chlorine in tap water, dry air, or too much direct sun. • Dry top, soggy bottom soil (in the clear pot) → Indicates poor drainage or compacted soil, which keeps the roots wet too long. ⸻ 🪴 How to Fix It 1. Check the roots: Gently pull the plant from its pot. If roots are brown or mushy, trim those off — they’re rotting. 2. Repot: • Use a well-draining mix — try equal parts potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark. • Move it into a pot with drainage holes. 3. Watering schedule: • Let the top 2–3 inches of soil dry before watering again. • Water less frequently in winter. 4. Water type: • Use filtered or distilled water if possible (Dracaenas are sensitive to minerals). 5. Light: • Keep in bright, indirect light, not direct sun from the window. • Too much direct light can burn the leaves (like the brown patch in the photo). 6. Humidity boost (optional): • Mist the leaves occasionally or place a small humidifier nearby.
