Hey! These fuzzy brown things are actually part of the plant. You have a “Rabbit’s Foot Fern”, named after this part of the plant which look like rabbit feet!!

Can you take a look at the picture I posted lower? It’s the green/light/red growth on the soil that has shown up that I am concerned about! Thanks you in advance!

The growth in the other photo looks like calcium build up to me. It’s completely harmless, it just evaporated out of the water you used and rested on top of the soil. You can pick it off and replace with different soil if you want. To lessen this effect you can either water with distilled water or fill up a container with water the night before you water your plants so the minerals have time to evaporate. Or, you can just keep doing what you’re doing :)

I have a similar fern and they are finicky. Mine started losing leaves because it was too cold. They also like bright light and consistent watering. Don’t feel bad if you are unable to rescue it, it’s a hard plant until you dial in its needs. There are easier plants!

Oh also not sure about this variety but mine when new leaves come in they look like dead twigs and I cut some off, oops! I’ve learned so much from the houseplantjournal dot com site

This was I was speaking of as a growth on the soil! I know the long furry things are the plant! I don’t have this growth on the other soil of my other plants

Looks like just harmless dry fungi and mineral deposits, completely normal honestly. I'd maybe try bottom watering if it bothers you

Yea this is normal if you fertilize at all, and if theres low circulation in a room. It's not harmful. If its mold vs minerals you can always spritz with peroxide, increase circulation in the area. Or sprinkle cinnamon on top. It has anti mold properties
