Does anyone know why my baby rubber plant is dying? I haven’t changed up my care in the slightest and in a month it went from growing tons of new leaves to all its leaves turning yellow and falling off. It gets a little window light and a grow light 12 hours a day. I’ve had it for over a year and haven’t changed its care once and it’s in a clear pot and its roots look great. If anyone has any insight into what’s wrong with it please share. Thank you!!

UPDATE: Turns out the plant had no roots which explains why all its leaves where turning yellow. I still have no idea why all its roots disappeared though. I chopped all its dead leaves and dead parts of the plant off. It’s currently drying out so I can attempt leca propagation. If anyone’s has any leca propagation tips or knows why it did this feel free to still share!

you need to "season" your leca or pon before use. when you get them, they've been mashing together in the bag on the way to you, so there's all kinds of mineral dust all over them. soak them in warm water for an hour or two to clean them, DON'T put that water down your drain, the minerals can build up in your pipes and clog something. it may have had all the roots die because there was too much light and not enough water, causing the roots to become dry and brittle and break off of the stem, especially if the container is clear.

Hi, The roots rotted off. It’s fairly common with this plant because they’re succulent like. I wouldnt do Leca for prop- stick some stems into water and hope it roots. It’ll be faster.
