Tomato plant is completely dry despite following water schedule. Does anyone have advice? It’s 2 small pots inside that orange pit and they all have drainage holes

I noticed this as well With all my plants. I live in the desert so dryness is a standard here. I ended up getting a moisture meter and checking everything each day. Also, I added mulch to the top to trap some of that moisture and it was a game changer.

1 LikeA few things could cause the dryness: - Under watering from an incorrect schedule. You have to use the schedule as notifications to check if the plants need water. The best method is the check for moisture with a wooden skewer or similar tool. The meters can give incorrect information. The soil should not dry completely before watering. Water after 1” of the soil has dried. - The plants were root bound and needed repotting or the roots are not enough to provide water to the plant. Tomatoes need an 18 inch wide pot or a 5 gallon bucket, minimum, to grow to full size. Plant at least 1/2 or up to 2/3 of the plant under the soil to grow roots faster. - Insufficient light can kill off a plant. Tomatoes need full sun about 8 hours 🍀🪴
