Hello. I got this little guy about a week ago and he started curling up almost immediately. Someone suggested I increase humidity, which I tried to do by misting, and placing my prayer plant in a small terrarium. Nothing is helping and it looks like he’s dying. Does anyone have advice on how I might save my new plant? Thank you!

I have a lemon lime maranta and it is one of my favs. I have her in indirect light and I only water her with distilled water. She lovessss it.

Thank you. I will try distilled water. The funny thing is, I’ve only watered him once. He was drenched when I got him.

He is probably shocked a little from transitioning to your home. I mist mine almost every day with distilled to give it that extra hit of humidity. And my house sits at about 50-55% humidity with a humidifier.

Oh, and I also use diluted Shultz plant food in distilled with every watering.

Try a diffuser of some sort, it helps to keep it warm, I’ve seen mine curl up near the colder windows when I tried to give it a new spot.

Thank you. We have had low temperatures this week, so maybe it’s the cold. 🥶

Have you checked on the moisture in the soil? Are you giving it the appropriate amount of light? Drainage in the pot? Is it a bit cold by that window? There are tons of factors that could be affecting it - though at first glance it does look a little dry! Plants can also struggle simply as a result of being moved into a new environment, and it looks like there are some new leaves there so I wouldn’t worry too much! It might just need a little time to adjust. :) Good luck!

Thanks! It may just be adjusting and I’m just impatient, lol. I’ve just wanted this little guy for a while, and really want him to do well.
