I have this adorable air plant in an adorable pot. But he hasn't been doing so hot. I watered him today but his leaves are dying very fast and he hasn't had any new growth lately. Is there any way I can help my baby? I put him in a place that planta recommended and he's getting the right amount of natural light. What should I do? PS he doesn't have any soil. The gray pot with the dirt is just so it can be propped higher and get more light.

    Are the brown parts crunchy or more limp/squishy? If they are crunchy I would lean towards the little guy being too dry. Additional misting might be needed. If they are limp/squishy I would lean towards being watered too much. That happened with my Xerographica and cutting off the dead bits and cutting down on watering fixed the issue. Also, depending on where you live and how close to the window the plant is; it might be getting too cold.

      I took the air plant out of the pot to remove some dead leaves and I found this white stuff all over the bottom of it. The plant was glued in so is this glue or some type of root decay?

      I’ve not had a glued air plant before so I’m not 100% sure. It does look like it could be glue/remains of glue. Do the leaves under those have any discoloration or traces of white? The leaves turning brown could be related to being glued in, depending on when you removed it from the glue. My air plant needs to be shaken off after watering and either dried upside down or infront of a fan. So if the plant was glued in the water might not have been able to drain/dry well enough.
