I’m having a bit of a fungus gnat situation in my room, and I’ve got about 20 plants, like cacti and African violets. I was wondering if anyone could share their tips on using neem oil or other chemicals to get rid of them? I’ve heard there’s a larvicide you can use to water the plants. I’m really trying to get rid of them, but unfortunately, they’ve always been a problem with my peace lily 😭

U can definitely use mosquito bits, I havent used them much, but u want to make sure to dissolve them entirely first in the water bc they mold otherwise. its probably faster than the method I use. I use perfect plantista for every bug problem I have now. Its essentially concentrate of thyme, cinnamon, and peppermint oil (it very strongly smells like the holidays lol). If I start to notice any adults, I spray the bottom and top of the pot specifically for fungus gnats bc they can sneak into drainage holes. They havent been back, and we r cool for the winter.

Kate’s Garden plant spray for gnats is amazing, and it sometimes comes with those sticky traps! I swear by this combo

Try to isolate as best you can before doing any treatments. Gnats can’t really fly that far from their host plant so even on the other side of the room might help at least contain it

Unfortunately they got to the other plants near my peace lily before I could treat it 😖

I use Bonide Systemic Houseplant Insect Control. It’s a granular you mix into the soil. Whatever survives that gets trapped by the Zevo insect trap.
