My prayer plant was really happy when I first got it, I haven’t changed anything but its leaves are yellowing and getting crispy. I thought it was overwatered so I’ve been letting it dry out the soil and just misting the leaves but it’s getting worse. I’ve removed 3 leaves already. Help!

Doesn’t seem to be a humidity problem, how often do you water, or rather do you stick to the plants schedule?

I was sticking to the apps schedule but I’ve snoozed it the last several times because the soil is still wet. It’s been 15 days and soil is still damp.

Okay defo don’t stick to the app’s schedule, it can be incorrect a lot of the time, what you need to do is check the soil before watering, I don't know if these guys like to dry out but it is probably worth researching. What I would do for now is to just leave it and let it dry and see how it is, if it continues to wilt the other leaves then take it out of the pot, trim the dead roots and put it in some fresh substrate

She needs either distilled or rainwater H2O only. Not even filtered. Believe me, I learned from experience. Do this one simple thing, she will love you. 💚 Adding a pic of one of mine since using distilled. Good luck!!

I planned on doing this from now on, I just haven’t watered since I decided to make that change. Thank you!!

filtered water is great for prayer plants if you treat it with an aquarium water conditioner, and it’s kinder on your wallet and the environment than distilled water. i highly recommend switching to treated, filtered water to everyone who owns prayer plants and can’t get rainwater reliably.

You might need to get the plant out of the pot and check the roots and soil. If you can squeeze the soil and water comes out (like squeezing a sponge) then you need to replace the soil with a better draining one. It might need to be in a bit smaller pot. 15 days with soil still wet is a major problem. This plant is very susceptible to root rot. I have heard they are very happy in self watering pots - like the ones with the string in the soil and down into a reservoir - but the discoloration of those leaves is looking like it might be root rot. My prayer plant is doing ok with just filtered water but I will try rain water if it will make it look like the other person posted. These are not easy plants, just keep that in mind as well.
