I’m a new gardener, and I noticed on my pepper plants, near the nodes- there is a black funk/spot growing. Not the leaves, just the nodes. Any idea what it is or what to do?

I had this exact hue of black on a cactus last year (as opposed to the hue of black fungus lol). I was told it was due to overwatering and too much humidity in the pot 🫤

Hmmm…okay. I guess that could be it! It’s in a garden bed- but maybe I am watering too much. Did your plant die?

It did die, but I think there were other elements at play. I had used Neem or some other cleaner, and then re-potted, watered. I think I overloaded it.

Yes, it might have! But I don’t blame you- don’t want it to spread! I think I am going to spray mine with a mix of water and baking soda and see what happens. It’s supposed to help kill fungus and mold. Crossing fingers!
