Hello everyone I was just wondering if I could get some tips on how to make my ruby rubber tree here happier it’s been a while since she’s put out a new leaf and I noticed today that the leaves look like they’re rotting and wilting. Judging from the soil I definitely need to get some new soil in there but does anyone have any advice? Thank you!
Hi - based on the soil retracting from the pot (you can see there is a gap on the edge where the soil is pulling away from the pot), it looks like your plant has outgrown its pot. Get a pot that is ~2 inches bigger than its current one, invest in some quality soil that has nutrients and some larger chunks in it like LECA. I’ve had success with different soil mixtures from Etsy sellers. When repotting, remove dirt from the roots while being careful not to damage them and check all the roots for rot. Trim back any roots that may be rotting. Loosen the roots at the bottom to encourage growth outward. Anticipate the plant to be a bit stressed after a repot and give it consistent care, it should bounce back.
