I think this is a hoya pubicalyx… but what is going on with these pests ☹️ Everytime theres a new growth they appear. I have cleaned the leaves regularly and tried neem oil. Nothing works!! Please help

    Try 70% isopropyl alcohol. Have it away from bright light. Use it on a qtip to remove what you can see. Then spray it all over the plant. Don’t put it back into the light until the alcohol evaporates. Repeat this every few days for awhile. You could also look into beneficial insects. They would eat the mealy bugs. You’d have to research which ones to get

    I have dealt with mealys many times. They seem to love succulents, which is what I have the most of. Quarantine. Do the alcohol/swab technique. Then spray treatment. I use Insecticidal Soap or Systemica about every three days for three weeks. Systemica is absorbed into the plant and works for several days. I also set up a custom task on the app to spray the plant every three days. I’ve tried treating for only a week or even two weeks. I have best results with a three week treatment.

    Replace the soil and swab the pot with an alcohol wipe to make sure you get any eggs. Use the q-tip soaked in alcohol method for any visible mealies. Spray with neem or any other preventative insecticide. Inspect the plant every day, and spot treat with alcohol any time you see a bug. Repeat the spray every 5 days (most sprays only kill young mealies.) Mealybugs live 31 days, so if you can go two months without seeing any, you're finished with treatment. If you prefer to go without insecticides, do the alcohol q-tips diligently and put ladybugs on the plant (or a mealybug destroyer beetle if you live in their native range)
