Help! I rescued this baby almost a year ago. LeafSnap tells me it's a fern. 🤷‍♀️ I've repotted it. I've tried it in every room in my house. Even if I put it near the humidifier it dries out. Can someone please tell me what it is and what to do for it? Honestly, I'm amazed it's still alive.

Looks like a staghorn fern. Does best in dappled sunlight and very airy substrate.

No I've had a staghorn. The leaves on this are much thinner. It's in regular soil with a lot of perlite. Should I change it?

It’s not a traditional fern, I had one of these in the past I just can’t remember what it was called. Does it almost have a crispy lettuce like feeling? Mine honestly died within two months of having it because it dried out like you said. I’m not sure what conditions they prefer but it’s clearly a difficult plant. I’ll see if I can go back and try to identify what it was.

See if Blue-star ferns or Footed-ferns match both look somewhat similar. The one I had was a blue-star and a total miss on my part because it would’ve thrived in a bathroom not in open air circulation.

That's what the app told me it was. A blue stuff fern. I tried it in the bathroom, I tried it next to a humidifier. I've kept it alive for almost a year but it's not thriving. I have it next to my kitchen sink now because I just don't know what to do with it.

I’m not sure what it is, but if it keeps drying out can you tent it with plastic or in a terrarium for a while and see if that helps perk it up?
