My black velvet alochasia has 3 leaves with a new one coming out. 2 older leaves turned down but are still firm not frail or easy to bend. Both have these spots on them. Not getting bigger but darkening like the area is dead… thoughts? Should I cut leaves off? I just repotted 2 days ago in a pon mix to make semi hydro. Roots looked good

It is shock and sucking the life out of that yellowing leaf to survive. Maby wait a bit until you chop it off. I usually wait tell there is no more green then i do. Tell me if i am wrong 😃

I have one of these two also semi hydro but in leca. It may be due to the shock of moving from soil to semi hydro, alocasias can be especially difficult. Also did you make sure to wash all the soil off the roots you probably did but if not that would be the reason. I would also maybe not repot your plant again to a new pot u less it does horrible in its current set up so it doesn’t stress the plant even more. I hope this helps!

Yes cleaned roots and sprayed off with hydrogen peroxide cut just in case…. Repotted. The two dots on the leaves were there prior to the repot and also the leaves dropping were prior. They have now yellowed a little more since the repot but I’m sure a little shock has happened
