Unknown plant type- has thinned out a lot since I got it and not growing back. Yellowish leaves that fall off and then into those nubs. Any ideas?

that seems to be some type of pothos not sure why it’s yellowing possibly not enough light. and those brown nubs are normal

Interesting thank you. The brown nubs used to be leaves though that fell off due to yellowing. Should I expect them to grow back? No such luck yet

it could just be you plant is trying to push new leaves and getting rid of the old ones. which is normal

I was watering when the top was completely dry. Just added some new soil to the pot and saw that the top was dry but the bottom of the soil was still pretty wet

Pothos like to completely dry out between waterings, so it may be overwatered

It’s a pothos - could be a golden or even a Hawaiian but hard to tell from the pics. Sounds like too much water - check the roots for rot. You might need to repot. It’s not uncommon for pothos to drop leaves but they don’t grow back so I would recommend propagating it. Lots of tips in these groups on how to do that.

Thanks for the info. This is what it looked like when I first got it. Will try repotting and less water. Thanks for the tips!

Looks like a golden Pothos, dropping leaves is common if it’s overwatered or having issues under the soil. Leaves only grow from the ends of the vines so cutting, rerooting, and repotting would bring the thickness back.
