Planta says this is a caterpillar and to remove it and look for more. Because it’s outside it didn’t suggest really anything else. I looked and couldn’t find anymore. The darn thing was eating like a champ!! Does anyone suggest anything else?
Wow I’ve never seen anything like it! According to Google that’s a “yellow-striped armyworm moth” whatever that is lol

Armyworms are typically a lawn pest but it looks like you got one that wanted your plant. You can use a tiny little torch lighter to take care of outdoor pests quickly and easily

If you want to protect your plant without harming the caterpillar, you can move it by hand (pull up on it gently and waot for it to release; caterpillars have a very strong grip) or get it to walk onto a leaf so you can move it. These will eat many plants, so just toss it into any shrub you don't mind it chewing on (and keep it away from any veggies; they love those)
