Today I saw this brown portion on my Thai constellation’s leaf. I checked the roots for rotting but it looked fine. I would appreciate any tip on how to keep my baby alive and kicking. Thanks in advance

I can’t speak from personal experience but only similar experience as I do not own a TC. I have pothos njoy/pearls and jade that do the same thing. This is due to the variegation. The cream/white color you see on your leaf is not able to absorb light as well because it doesn’t have much chlorophyll in it like the darker green portions do. Since you checked roots (and is also recommended checking for pests) i believe this to be the reason behind the browning. I don’t know if much solutions but I feel like i’ve heard of watering with silica can be a good way to keep the white portions from doing that. If someone else could confirm that it’d be much appreciated.

Thank so much! I will do what I can to keep this beauty alive. I will try silica water. Is Neem oil beneficial for variegated plants? I spray mine once in a while. I’m not sure if that’s what caused the issue.

i dont think thats what caused it, as its typically used as a natural pesticide on most plants. it most likely turned brown because that part of the leaf is completely white, and cannot keep itself alive for very long. this is why people will cut all white leaves off of other variagted plants, as the all white leaf is draining nutrients and energy. :)
