Hello!! I’ve had my golden pothos for a little over two months & she has barely had any growth. This is the second time now she’s popped a new leaf that has been dead. She sits up on a bookshelf directly across from a second story east facing window & I follow all of Planta’s watering, fertilizing & misting instructions. Any ideas?

In my experience, if you follow the watering schedule perfectly, it’s too much. I practically killed 3 plants by drowning them to death. There was literal standing water at the bottom of the pots. Back then, I followed the Planta schedule to the day, every time. Now I use it as a general reminder to go look at them to water. I always check the soil on the water recommended days. If it’s not ready, I snooze. 2 days usually won’t make or break it for a plant. After the snooze, I check again. My pothos is pretty water deprived (I only water like once a month if that?) and it’s growing like mad in an east facing in MN. PlantyAnn has a great skewer trick to help if you think you’re overwatering. P.S. I posted a day to two ago about misting and the knowledge in this community is fantastic. You can go look for it if you’re interested.

Amazing, thank you!! Could the overwatering be the culprit for the new leaves popping out dead?

Honestly, it looks like it could be. It does look like the new growth is rotted. If it’s soft and kinda mushy, it’s rotted from overwatering. And if that’s the case, you may want to also check for root rot on your plant.

I have to agree with you in what the Planta instructions tell you with watering
