Hello everyone I recently just got this Xanthosoma Albo Marginata 'Mickey Mouse' plant two weeks ago. It was doing great I followed all the usual steps I take when getting a new plant such as checking for bugs, rot etc… but I checked it today and the stem is bent down, one stem was yellowing so I removed it. Not sure what this plant needs, it has a good root system and no bugs/mites. I read online that the plant prefers to stay semi moist but, obviously not soaking. It has had been under full spectrum light and gets at least 8 hours or more a day. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Any advice would be great!! Thanks in advance.

What do the leaves look like? Show a photo of the entire plant. It’s hard to tell what’s wrong by just looking at a stem. Have you removed the pot and felt if the root is soft and mushy? It’s hard to tell the roots condition in the photo. I know roots exposed to light can darken. I would verify there is no root rot.

It originally had a wooden bamboo stick to hold them up straight I took it out to show you how the stem is bending.

Was it shipped to you? I ask because it could have experienced some slight damage in shipping, that's been slowly degrading the stem.

It could still be existing damage, but more strange.

I agree with the comments that it could be damaged and settling. Two weeks is not a long time to adjust to a new environment. Give it a couple more weeks. You might lose that limp stem.
