I have some leaves on a Mauna Loa Hoya turning yellow and dying from the bottom up, leaving behind a yellowed stem with no leaves at the bottom. There no bugs or apparent disease. Iāve checked for root rot. I keep it in bright indirect light at about 50% humidity and itās done great until a few months ago when it started doing this. Should I air layer it and cut it off? How far up the stem should I go to put the root ball if I do that? Help!
It could be old leaves dying off if everything thing looks normal.
0 Likes I thought of that but the leaves on the other branches arenāt doing that. Iāve also got lots of other Hoya and Iāve never seen leaves die off that fast. In fact, none of them have lost any leaves at all at the base of the branches like that. Itās a stumper! I think Iām going to try air layering it. That exposed stem is just too ugly.

0 Likes Thank you! I noticed that the tips of the branches want to grow up so I figured it would do well on a trellis. I need a bigger trellis though.
