Spider plants leaves have been yellowing. I thought she was in a spot with too much sun but that wasn’t the case. She’s in a self watering pot and only water her when she’s dry. So not consistently moist. Had to put diatomaceous earth on her soil because I had a pest problem and wanted to be cautious since she was nearby the issue. In the past her roots were growing through the bottom and now that isn’t the case. Should I dump soil and give her new soil? Any help is appreciated!

It could be a couple of problems. It seems like you’re not watering consistently. You’re missing out on the benefits of the self watering pot. It should always have some water in it. Inspect the top of the soil. Is it crusty? Does it have mineral build up? Does it smell funky? If you answered yes to any of these questions, I would dump out the pot and inspect the roots. If you have any root rot, repot with fresh soil.

I just got a spider baby cutting and when I was researching it said they can be sensitive to fluoride in tap water so that can cause brown tips. Maybe try rain water if you aren’t already? It also said that sometimes the parent plant can struggle with also supporting the spider babies. If you’re not over attached to them, possibly trim those off (and propagate!!!) so mama plant can focus on herself for a little while?

I use distilled water or stress coat so I didn’t think it was a water issue. I cut off so many of the babies before and I guess need to propagate more lol. I hadn’t thought of that. Thank you! What do you do with the baby ones that don’t have the little nubs on the bottom and are kinda like mini leaf offshoots on the offshoot and not a full baby plant? 1st image vs 2nd image. I have left those before and they don’t seem to grow into a baby spider 🤔 super helpful advice!!!

I only JUST got some baby cuttings from a friend hence the research so I don’t have a fully developed plant to know as far as the babies that don’t have root stubs yet. I defer to more experienced spider parents!

Spider plants LOVE water and south facing sun ( or indirect bright sun) and I’d highly recommend not placing tension with the babies as you are . You can clip them to give to others or make new plants but the tension does cause some stress as you’ve done as it’s upward against a reverse pattern of energy . Also, the more babies you have, the more nutrients are released for them more so. If it’s not doing well, you want to omit that as best as you can . Mine won’t stop getting pregnant lol

Oh good to know about my bamboo stick setup. I saw someone else do it and it seemed to work but I took it off now!! Super helpful. Thank you so much for all the tips! Same with mine, it took a year for her to get pregnant but now she won’t stop! 😝
