Hi Back again with weather damage from being too cold. I bought this plant and then two days later our weather gets super cold and icy. I bought a heat pack with this cause I was told that one was just fine for this negative weather so I did that. I just received it. The heat pack was completely frozen and this plant looks like my other plants when I drove up here from Florida…. There is one stem on here that is still good. That’s still hard towards the bottom. The rest are very mushy. Do I cut them off now or do I wait since I just opened this package? Do I water the cold ass soil with warm/cold/lukewarm water very lightly or don’t water at all. I’m very annoyed lol I bought plants when I was living in Maine during the winter with no problem again this is my first time having frost damage to any plant and then I have another plant coming on the 10th and I hope to God is fine cause I’m tired of looking at these damaged ugly plants i’m used to seeing my Full green, lush plants. Sure it’s on me for ordering plants during the winter (Will be driving 1-3 hours now To the next state to buy plants & hopefully they will have plants im interested in🙄) . But I’ve never had the problem like this before I’m from Florida, but I’ve lived in colder states before multiple times. I have bought plants with the same weather like here and I’m just having problems now with these and I’m just irritated

Sometimes it just happen that the delivery takes too long or the package sits in cargo in a parking lot too long. Cut off the mushy parts including the dead roots. Water if the soil is dry. Hopefully, it recovers. It’s unlikely with a small pot. 🍀🍀🍀

yeee all my Smaller ones I had from Florida all Literally deteriorated in the soil when I went to go change out the soil for them! But hopefully this one will recover. Should I report it now for sure cause I have all my soil & mixes for it or should I just leave it now give it a couple days To repot it, the soil is Still very wet. I opened the package around 2:40pm my time (its now 4:01pm)

I would not cut until you contact the seller. Some are very specific about if you cut or alter the plant they refuse refund/replace.

I would pop it on a seed mat if you have one. Vs like warm water, as it's probably pretty damp. Did they insulate at all? Heatpacks stop working below 35°F, so if the box isn't insulated properly or double in and out. They are pretty useless

It was just a cardboard box with 1 very thin wrapping paper and 1 wrap of Newpaper with a couple of pieces of styrofoam tapped to the bottom where the heat pack was tapped down and the plant on top of that heat pack

I have definitely gotten into the habit of asking... "what's your insulation?" Because I've seen everything from just paper to foam 🙄

Definitely cut it back then like Sunny suggested
