Hey, please don’t roast me. I’m a beginner and purchased this plant at a plant event. I believe it is an elephant ear plant. I watered it before a 4 day vacation and came back and it looks like it’s dying. How can I help it? Any advice helps.

If the dirt is still wet maybe repot it? Just a suggestion I may be wrong but I hope you can save it, it’s a gorgeous plant!

People are really nice about not “roasting” posts here. So you have a nasty yellow leaf. Well, that can be caused by overwatering, under-watering, too little sun, or too much sun. Welcome to the world of houseplants.

1 likeIs the other leaf in good condition? And is the dirt moist or dry. You mentioned pest can you identify them?

0 likesOut of the 3 leaves, one is good, one has a dark spot, and one is completely yellow. The top of the soil is dry and bottom is slightly moist
0 likesImportant: chunky soil mix! This makes sure there’s enough drainage to make sure your plant doesnt get root rot. It mainly has potting soil but also lots of perlite, and you can also add coconut chips or orchid bark. Maybe it’s rootbound? Yellowing can mean the plant is rootbound, or maybe it has a watering issue? Water when the top 3-4 inches of soil get dry. You can look with a chopstick. I recommend giving bright indirect light. We do not roast here!! Us plant people are good at being nice. We arent bad at plants, we just need practice. Good luck with your plant!! Hope this helps! :D
