Help! My philodendron is growing mushrooms. I just found them today. Google says to scrape them out and replace the top layer of soil. What are some solutions to ensure this doesn’t happen again? I have nine different plant types in my home and this has never happened before.

I’ve had this happen. From what I learned, it just means you have great soil :).

It did freak me out when I first noticed it though 🤣

They're a sign of healthy, moist soil. I used to get them in my ficus occasionally. If you don't like them, add more perlite or similar material to your soil mix. A quicker draining soil doesn't hold water long enough to allow mushroom growth.
