So I was gifted a flamingo Lilly Anthurium and it’s not in a great condition any tips to get it back in great shape? I’m guessing they cut the flowers or leaves to propagate maybe do I get rid of those stems?

Maybe they cut off the blooms. 🤔 If it was me, I’d probably cut those dead ended stems back 🤷🏻‍♀️ It doesn’t look too bad tho. 😁👍🏻 It’s not droopy or discolored looking in the pictures. As long as it doesn’t smell like root rot, it’ll probably be fine 😊 I rehabbed one that looked a lot worse. And it’s pretty healthy now. 😁 Just needs good light. And you may want to repot after it’s had a few weeks to adjust to its new surroundings. 😊 (It looks like it might be in a sphagnum moss mix…so it’s probably gonna retain water for too long.)

The cut tips are hard and no smell and as for the moss would it be better with none just the soil ?! And is it similar to the money tree as far as watering consumption?

The money tree has rhizomes that hold water. So the Antherium will need water more often. It’s a vine plant. For most of my house plants, I use a soil mix and add extra perlite and some orchid bark pieces to make it a little chunkier and better draining. That way the water doesn’t sit too long and make the roots rot. I have found recipes for that online or from Instagram plant influencers. Or if you’re just starting out and you don’t want to be too involved in it yet, you can try just getting something like a Miracle-Gro tropical soil mix, and a bag of perlite (I get mine from Lowe’s or Home Depot). Adding extra perlite will help with drainage. 😊

But if you just got the plant in your house, you might want to wait and let it adjust to its new surroundings for a few weeks before repotting
