Not sure what I’m doing wrong with this plant whether I’m over/under watering or what. The leaves tend to die and fall off trailing up the stem. I cut and propagated once and it’s still doing the same thing. I have majority of the stem pinned down to make it look more full and less viney.

Don’t water on top of the leafs and use warm water when watering

I’ve had my ups and downs w that plant lol I have found it to do the best in my humidity tank and brighter light. When I took it out one time to make room for others that I thought needed it more, it started going downhill. Put it back in 70-80 humidity and a grow light in a western window and it doesn’t stop growing lol I have to keep cutting off the top.

Thanks for the tip. I definitely do need an upgraded setup for my collection of plants. Right now they’re set up in front of a western facing window which is the most convenient spot and gets the most light. They’re all doing pretty well there but I do want grow lights and a more sturdy, bigger stand.

Yeah it took quite a while before I could start humidity tanks. It’s not cheap 🙈 I can’t say for sure whether it’s the humidity or light that made it flourish. It really could be both. The spot I moved it too was less light and way less humidity. And it started dropping leaves. But back in a tank w grow light on it it’s doing great. Like u can see the top of the mother is right against the lights lol

I’m sure it’s both that helped but maybe more of the light. They look great! What kind of tank/light do you have?

My first humidity tanks are fish tanks lol a 40 gallon cuz it’s taller and a 50 gallon cuz I could put more plants in lol then we went to a local place that makes acrylic pieces and had lids made. One small computer fan from Amazon for each tank has been plenty. A hygrometer which is how I learned how much to leave the lids open. And all my grow lights have come from Lowe’s or Home Depot. I picked ones that gave out like medium light. At the distance I have them, about 800 foot candles is hitting my tropical plants. Then a few months ago someone locally was selling an ikea milsbo glass cabinet. I jumped on that! lol we don’t have ikea in Alaska 😔

Unfortunately none of my humidity tank plants are looking great because i recently learned an expensive and time consuming lesson on bringing home new plants and assuming they were pest free. I had to do 2 weeks of treatment on every plant. They’re all still recovering ❤️‍🩹

hypothes plant also known as polka dot plant love humidity and part sun/full sun. This plant looks to have a little of all of it going on. Watch your watering habits as this can happen when the plant has received too much water and is dropping leaves as well as low humidity. 70% min. It’ll perk back up and then in the following week a little fertilizer and cut it back to support low growth and you’ll see it bush out.
