What type of pest is that? They move fast and they are on my plant leaves especially on the new leaves and they are all curling because of them it’s been months I treat them and they always come back. I tought it was thrips but I just wanna make sure if its not something else?

you can order a little jar of lady bugs online — they’ll clean them up quick!

most ladybugs sold online are invasive species, like the asian lady beetle. i really don’t recommend purchasing them unless it’s from a local garden center and you can confirm it’s a native species. my house is horribly infested with them because they are overpopulated on the east coast since so many people purchase and release them for pest control. they smell horrible and they’re a nightmare to deal with once they’ve started living in your walls. castile soap, isopropyl alcohol, and/or beneficial nematodes are what i usually recommend as they’re the least impactful on our homes, our health, and the environment.

try first a few drops of castile or another gentle soap in water and spray your plant down every few days. most treatments need to be applied repeatedly even past once you’ve seen the last of the bugs as new babies will hatch. most pest life cycles are under 8 weeks so keep treating with insecticidal soap (like castile) every few days for two months and they should eventually die off. what have you been using to treat the plant in the past?
