SOS. I am losing my mind over this fittonia. The leaves have been constantly dry and curling, so I tried repotting into three separate pots, but now this morning it’s completely drooping. I am at a loss of what I am doing wrong. Does anyone have any thoughts/advice? I am a beginner plant parent and would greatly appreciate any support 😢

I don't know anything about this plant. I would have guessed overwatering but I took a screenshot and PlantAI said: Your Nerve Plant (Fittonia albivenis) looks a bit dehydrated. The leaves are slightly drooping and the overall color is not as vibrant as it should be. This may be due to insufficient watering. I suggest you water it promptly and move it to a cooler location with bright, indirect light. This will help it recover.

Yes, I would also guess overwatering and/or maybe shock from the change. I just watered it yesterday and the soil is still moist, so it’s definitely not under watered.

My PlantAI has been messing up a lot on "problems" lately. Which is why I told you my opinion too. Love the app for identifying though. It's only gotten one plant wrong out of about 50. Much better than Planta. Maybe I'll just use it for that from now on. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Do not be upset with this plant! It is notoriously finicky. Many plant experienced people have tried keeping this plant and given up. I had one a couple years ago. They get leggy very quickly also. It was always dropping leaves. Looked terrible. Chopped it down to the soil and the damn thing had the nerve to grow back. Eventually it succumbed to my frustration and ended up in the trash.

My nerves can’t take Fittonia. I’ve sworn them off forever. They’re not fun for me and I refuse to stress over plants I don’t really even care for that much. I don’t need to be challenged lol

Fittonia are SO DRAMATIC. Don't stress about the drooping yet; in my experience they hate being repotted but will eventually calm down. I have one that I've brought back from the brink of death three separate times... They don't *want* to die, but they certainly want you to worry about them all the time 🤣 such prissy little things

Ooh also I feel like I should tell you what's made mine so happy recently: it's in an indoor greenhouse (unsealed, nothing special) with a Barrina T5 around 8" above it. It's in a net pot meant for hydroponics, in a slightly finer aroid mix (I basically just avoided big chunks from a bag of Molly's), and I water with very weak fertilizer every other day. I add super thrive in the recommended concentration occasionally, probably twice a month.

Here he is; if you want a "before" picture it's in my profile. This thing has had all manner of terrible things happen to it lol
