Hi, I'm new to plants. I got this golden pothos from an estate sale in January. It has been in good health since I got it but I just noticed this leaf has a black spot on it out of nowhere. Planta thinks it needs repotted and I don't think that's the problem. Any ideas of what it could be and how to fix it would be appreciated!!

Black spots usually signal a distress of some kind. The main reasons are often due to overwatering or poor air circulation. If it is overwatered, yes I would repot. I would repot in a plastic pot, with drainage holes at the bottom, then get a nice decorative pot to fit on the outside of the plastic one. Succulent and cactus soil work well for golden pothos.

According to planta mine had root rot and it didn’t. I didn’t know any better and completely ruined my full bushy golden pothos 😭 I wish I would have never followed its instructions. Just be mindful and definitely get all the advice you can. By the looks of it it might need a repot.

Always remember Planta gives advice. It can only suggest based on all the information you provide it and it always says you may skip a step if you find that it is not needed.
