Are the leaves drooping? Because he may not have been watering it. Or overwatering it.

Try a grow light and just consistently watering this happened to my spider plant and the grow light I use has helped a lot with fixing the drooping

Overwatering and under watering looks very similar on the leaves of a monstera. You have to check the soil moisture. I recommend checking both the soil and roots. Replace the soil if it’s too wet. Repot if it’s root bound. Bottom water if it’s too dry. Fluorescent office lights can grow plants if the light is intense enough. Add a grow light or move it to a sunny window to get west/south light filtered through a sheer curtain or give it direct east light. 🪴🍀

I'm going to go with underwatering. While you are away it probably didn't get watered deeply and I looked at some images of problem plants and there was one exactly like yours that said underwatering, although Sonny is right underwatering and over watering can look much the same.
