It might need nutrients, since is grow season, also just take off the ones that are already yellow so the plant don’t work too hard. Did you fertilize already?
1 j'aimeAlso ensure lighting to fit your plant.
1 j'aimeI didn't fertilize it, what should I use? Thank you
1 j'aimeHow often do you water?
0 J'aimeSo most likely you can water when 1-2 inches of top soil is dry, just stick your finger in it. Fertilizer it could be one for indoor plants. Ensure that repotting is within a year to two, I’m sure she will let you know when is time. And lighting is key, if you would like to make the best of this baby.
0 J'aimeYou, one last question for you. do you think it needs more light? should I move it near the window?
0 J'aimeNear the window but not too close to it, allow the brightness of it to hit the plant. Like a reflection.
0 J'aimeOk. Thank you very much!
0 J'aimeBenjamin can be very touchy. This is what I call The ficus freak out! Changes in its environment often cause it to freak out. Trim off any dead leaves branches, shape your plant as needed, make sure it has nice fresh soil and fertilize it weakly weekly. Find it's happy place and leave it there!
2 J'aimethe problems started after we moved him, about 2 years ago. I also changed his pot and since then he has been looking worse and worse. are you saying I should cut off his dry branches?
0 J'aimeThank you
0 J'aimeYes if the branch is dry it's dead. If you're not sure you could begin trimming near the end of the branch and keep trimming until you see any life in it. If it's brittle it's dead.
1 j'aimeDoes the new pot have drainage? If it does not that would be a problem. They also don't like cold or warm drafts in the house.
1 j'aimeyes, that could be the biggest problem. warm air currents from the vent in the winter and cold air currents in the summer. but I have no other option. Anyway, very useful advice, thanks.
0 J'aimeYou are very welcome.
