My ficus tend to drop leaves if I let them go too dry. Do you think the soil may be getting too dry between waterings?

yeah probably, i had it in a cement pot that dried out super quickly. i have it in a 3 inch plastic pot now. do you think it needs upsized to hold more water?

Do the roots have enough room for growth in the 3 inch plastic pot? As long as they do, it should be fine in it! You just have to keep up with the watering. Mine doesn’t like to dry out all the way, so when I notice the top half being dry I go ahead and water.

I had similar problem and could not save mine. I’ve been told they are incredibly fussy. They need consistent watering schedules and my main problem was my dry and drafty house. If you just got it, be extra attentive as she adjusts. She needs warmth and moist, not soggy soil. If leaves are dropping, watering or temp is the problem
