Help, I don’t know what to do anymore! I repotted her a few weeks ago as the soil was very hard and she was much too big for the pot, yet never growing. I am trying Molly’s Aroid Mix for the first time as I’ve heard everyone raving about it. Since then, her stems will droop significantly after almost one week without being watering. Once watered, she perks up immediately and is stiff and strong for almost another full week until the cycle starts over. Now, her leaves are dying off and drying out like crazy, and she still hasn’t grown a single new shoot/leaf. I’m probably overwatering it slightly since it seems to want water so often, but it seems like nothing is helping the issue. Is this not the right soil? This plant has not grown a single new leaf since I’ve bought it; I’ve not encountered this issue with any of my plants before. Thanks in advance for any insight!

With these super chunky mixes it might just be a matter of needing to water more frequently - especially if it’s been hot recently. Do you see any evidence of pests under the leaves/on the stems?

It’s hard to tell from these pics but it’s looking like spider mites to me

Unfortunately, I think you are right…it took me forever to spot anything but I am now seeing a few teeny crawling bugs on the leaves, and the it is showing all the symptoms of spider mites :( have you ever dealt with this before?

None of my personal plants, thankfully. I was recently given a bunch of syngonium to water prop and they were riddled with mites — I put them right in the trash 😬 So the thing about spider mites is that they lay eggs under the “skin” of the leaves which makes them tough to treat. Not impossible, but it will require multiple treatments. Rinsing thorough (aggressively lol) spot checking, alcohol or neem oil. The more leaves you cut off, the better and you’ll need to keep eyes on it regularly
