I have a beautiful pin strip calathea that I got a few weeks ago. It seems very healthy, but the new leaves are paler green compared to the leaves it came with to. Do you think it needs more sun? Is that normal or is there anything else I should do for it?

New leaves are often paler green until they “harden”, meaning until they dry a bit and get tougher. When that happens they tend to become darker in color to help protect from the sun.

      Thank you! That’s great news.

Perfectly normal. Your calathea is beautiful. That’s a plant I haven’t had yet.

I love all my calathea. They are just the prettiest plants. I hesitated to get them at first because it said they were difficult but given some filtered water they seem very happy.
